Diana Fayt

How lucky am I!! This Diana Fayt platter was a present from my other half. I can't tell you how excited I was when I was opening the box.

I love the textured surface the drawings and marks make in the clay. The colours are beautiful and I really like the contrast against the bricks of our chimney breast. We keep looking at it expecting it to tell us the time for some reason! :-) I think because of its shape. One of my favourite presents of all time! Have a look at Diana's website www.dianafayt.com and also her blog www.oneblackbird.blogspot.com

Colour my world

Had to share these gorgeous flowers with you. I'm just mesmirised by the colours, they're so delicate together. Spring flowers are my favourites, tulips and hyacinths but I especially love these lilac roses - really unusual. I think I should use these colours in a painting.

Forget the past

My latest painting to be finished. It's 20.4 x 20.4 cm, acrylic on board like the last one. Again the layer with the lettering is transparent and no I didn't harm the book. :-) I've used text from a very old book published over 100 years ago that was sitting on my parent's bookcase. It tells of how the biggest enemy of the goldfinch was the bird-catcher. So I suppose people must have kept them in cages. Thank god things have changed! Now these beautiful creatures visit our garden to feed on the thistle seed we put out for them.

Available... I might put this on Etsy and see if there's any interest... Ok, done it. It's listed here if you're interested.

ps. Is blogger driving anyone else mad today? This is about the 5th attempt at this post!!! Arggh! Off to pour myself a nice glass of wine!
