weekend wanderings and giveaway winner

Always trying to think of new places to walk Floss where we can let her off the lead for a good run, we spent an hour or so at Astbury Mere yesterday.

Although it was bitterly cold I liked it straight away as it reminded me of the seaside with it's little sandy beaches.

Floss decided that she's scared of swans. The swan wasn't scared of Floss.

Any sticks in the water must be fetched out and if there's bread around you'd better be quick before Floss eats it.

Now, onto the giveaway results...

I just want to say thank you to everyone who entered. It was fun reading through the comments with some clever and funny suggestions which I never would have thought of.

I'm using random.org. I have given each comment a number from 1 to 20 (if you commented twice your second comment will have a number but won't count if it's drawn). And the winner is....

Penelope, because she held so many keys, to Odysseus's heart, to patience and to being an amazing weaver. Even the hair is right!

Thanks again Lesley, and it looks like Floss had a wonderful time, I am not sure about the swan though.
I'm so excited about the necklace

Lovely photos of your 'beach' and Floss. Penelope is a great name for your mannequin. Congratulations to Julie for coming up with it. x

Lesley!

I've just received the absolutely
beautiful necklace. I was so struck by the delicacy of it, I expected it to be heavier, but its light around my neck and I really adore the simplicity and fine craft of it.
The earrings too, I know I will wear them so often, for they have the same beautiful restraint as the necklace. How lucky I am!

Yay!! So glad you like it! And the earrings too! It's interesting that you expected the necklace to be heavier than it is. I know that a lot of people think the pebbles will be heavy until they see/hold them but they're really quite light. I wish I could figure out a way to show that on the internet. Any ideas? :-) x

Floss is very clever to be afraid of swans, they can be viscious!! The place looks beautiful.
