peacock blue

Iridescent shimmering hues of turquoise, blues and greens. As beautiful as the Atlantic on a sunny day.

I had been following them around, waiting and waiting, hoping for a display. I'd almost given up hope when this one came strutting along and shook his tail feathers right at me to everyone's amusement. I think he liked the attention.

It was taken at Trevarno in Cornwall. A really lovely place where they make organic soaps, beautiful gardens, hold the national daffodil collection (a whole field of daffodils - stunning) and have a gardening museum full of old advertising signs and tools. Well worth a visit if you like that gentle way of life.

WOW! How stunning - isn't nature incredible?!
Lovely to see these photos - thanks!
You could do a spectacular lino print of this fellow!

Dear Lesley,

These are wonderful images.
Really enjoyed the video. In another part of town here in Cambria, these were wild and often landed on our roof and strutted around our garden. The make an alarming sound , like a wild cat, often in the middle of the night!
did you hear it?
xx

I agree with tree shadow moon, nature is indeed incredible. They are real show offs though aren't they, on very good terms with themselves!

I've always been rather fascinated with peacock feathers. It must be quite a job to drag them around! Trevarno will most definitely be another place on my list to visit. x

Nadia, a lino print would be great with the patterns wouldn't it. Maybe I'll give it a go. Thanks! x

Julie, that must be incredible to see them wild! Wow!! We did hear them calling to one another, it's very loud isn't it! Can't imagine being woken up by one on the roof! Eek!! x

Bean, he definitely was posing for the camera. I think he was used to all the attention! Very funny :-) x

Louise, I couldn't help but think of a ballgown when the feathers were swishing along behind. x
